Tinned Copper
When it is instructed to use 50%tin-50%lead to solder copper to copper will 60%-40% work instead?

And why cant one find any 50-50 solder any more?
thanks for your answer. Its copper on copper and not for water piping. (roof).
The installer says its too difficult to solder with lead free solder, and wants copper-lead combination. I guess from your answer 60-40 is ok. Thank you

50/50 solder was normally used for soldering copper pipes. A few years ago, it was found to be a health hazard and no longer legal to use. They now sell lead-free solder. You can also find 95/5 solder for copper water lines. If you are soldering water lines, the instructions are no longer valid.
