Building a cement fish pond. Should i paint the bottom or should i put tiles?
I know tiles are much more expensive than paint. But i fear that if i paint the pond it would affect the fish. I’m planning to maybe put tiles in some parts ot the bottom. Not entirely cuz it would be expensive. What other suggestions do you have for pond floors? should i just leave it be with plain cement? paint it? or place tiles on it?
Tiles: more expensive, more effort, but more beautiful, and safe for fish.
Paint: cheaper, easier, but also cheaper-looking and perhaps not safe for fish.
The pros and cons kinda level out. I would personally go with tiling in some kind of design, then leaving the rest of the cement without paint on it. Either that, or buy some smooth stones to scatter on the pond floor to cover it, and the fish might like that too.
