How to get started with making Mosaics?
I have been searching for a new hobby, one that is along the lines of crafting and I have found Mosaics. I would LOVE to start doing colored tile mosaics in my spare time, but I don’t know how to start.
I wouldn’t mind a kit to start with to get the feel and then expand into something that is more involved.
Any tips, suggestions or ideas to help me get started.
First thing you have to do is decide if you are going to use glass or tile, then get yourself some glass or tile nippers, e5600 and grout and go to town – I would suggest you don’t make the pieces too small or you will go semi-crazy – esp with your first pieces – check out mosaicgardentreasures.com it is a site a friend of mine has – she has kits to start you out and there are some awesome pics on there to give you ideas – her stuff is done with glass…. have fun……
