How do you cut a circle into four equal strips?
I have a math problem where you must cut a circle into four, equal, vertical strips. How do you do it, cause I’m stumped?
There needs to be an equal area.
Well, there will be three cuts total. Since circles are symmetrical it makes sense that you cut once right down the middle. Now the left half and right half are identical… and each needs one more cut dividing each in half.
The problem then is how to cut a half circle in half with a cut parallel to the straight edge.
