Coffee Beans and Grinders?
Silly question I know. I have bought a coffee grinder ages ago for grinding spices and have now got some tesco coffee beans. Thing is my grinder has the settngs for minimum of 4 cups. How much (weight or no of beans) will need to be ground for a standard not strong cup of coffee. I can’t find my manual anywhere.
Thanks
I have various coffee makers and both a coffee mill and a coffee grinder. Anyhow the best coffee is made in my old fashioned Cona and the rule for making coffee this way is 2oz to 2pints brewed for 2mins! Simple and makes perfect coffee. I have applied this to other coffee makers with good results. The key thing being using the correct grind for the method. ie if making filter coffee still 2oz to 2pints but finely ground (filter fine), as this drips through then the time element doesn’t apply, if you were using an old stove top percolator then you would still use 2oz to 2pints but a coarse ground so therefore you would increase the brew time to a bit longer.
One of my large cups holds 1/2pint so I would use 1/2oz to each one of these. If your cups are 1/3pint each then use 1/3oz for each cup.
