What is the best way to find out the value of coins and currency?
I have hundreds of different coins and assorted forms of currency from my father’s old collections. Some are newer and likely worth less than scrap, but some are older or very strange and so I have no idea what they are worth.
What is the best way to find out the value of these coins, since I myself am not a professional in the least!
I’ve tried browsing for the coins online and in books, but I don’t even understand how to judge quality or anything like that..and some of the coins are so weird that I don’t know how to even start to look them up. If they’re worth anything I’d like to sell them, but my main priority is just getting an idea of the value first!
Find a reputable dealer in your area. Look in the phone book or use the internet.
Call them, tell them what you have and make an appt.
Offer to pay a small appraiser fee or offer to give them first crack at buying any of the good ones.
Most dealers are honest, look for the ones that have been around for awhile.
