Kyocera Mita’s printers use a technology called Ecosys. The objective in Ecosys is to have very little impact on the environment by extending the life of the printer’s consumable and lowering the overall cost per print. This is achieved by designing a drum that is separate from the toner cartridge. In a standard printer, these two are combined and when the Kyocera FS-3800D Printer Toner Cartridge is depleted, the drum (which has a much longer life) gets replaced needlessly. In a Kyocera printer, the total cost of ownership is less because of this Ecosys technology.
