Whats it called when you drill a metal tube so it fits good to another tube for welding?

But like if you need to weld 2 pipes together to make a “T” shape?
Can you use a Hole saw on your drill press than put the tube in a vise?

What is the diameter of the tube that you are working with? You use the Template Development Technique to create the correct cuts in each of the two pieces. Using a drill bit it would catch the bit while drilling. Are the tubes going to be Perpendicular (90 deg.) to each other? Why not fish mouth the piece that will be intersecting it and no need to place a hole and weaken the other tube.
