What wall color goes with royal blue counted tops and maple cabinets?
We just purchase a new home and the previous owner did a beautiful kitchen remodel but put in royal blue countertops. Strapped for funds we cannot replace them so are going to make the best of it. My question is what to paint the walls? Royal blue counters maple cabinets and flooring and a partial blue tiled backsplash. The house is open concept.
The answer is…gray.
Consider the following design points:
Gray is the neutral that will work with anything that you do color-wise with the adjoining rooms.
Gray looks fantastic with maple cabinets, complimenting the tone perfectly.
Gray will give you a modern look.
And then, with royal blue, it just makes sense & the gray will help tone down the intensity.
The trick is to choose a true gray, not one with a green, brown, or blue undertone.
I think the perfect gray is 7017 Dorian Gray by Sherwin Williams.
