How can I get the stains caused by a reaction between bleach and a penny out of my white clothes?
I had the clothes on the line when an unexpected storm rolled in. The rain hit the ground so hard that the clothes were all spattered with mud. I soaked them in natural, enzyme based stain removers to no avail. I finally resorted to bleach, which took care of the mud. The problem is that there was a penny in the pocket of a pair of white jeans and apparently all the corrosion was removed by the bleach and deposited on the clothes. More soaking in bleach hasn’t done much. Can anyone help!??
You might try using a rust remover that’s safe for fabrics. This will mean spot treating all of the stains on each clothing item because it’s not designed for adding to your laundry detergent. A lot of work, but it might do the trick.
