How to ship engagement ring without girlfriend finding it in the mail?
I am gonna pop the big question to my gf and am buying a ring from USA and having it shipped to Australia. The problem is they will only ship to the address on the credit card account and if it arrives at my house she might find it as we live together. I was gonna ask a friend to pay with his credit card, then pay him in cash, but don’t want him to end up in the middle if something goes wrong with the transaction. Otherwise they will take bank transfer but it is a lot more risky and it is an online transaction so it is already risky. What should I do? Any ideas? p.s. it is from http://www.diamondsonweb.com/
It doesn’t seem that they would ship a diamond ring in the regular mail, they would use a shipment carrier, such as FedEx or UPS here in the US so that there is a tracking number. You can arrange to have them hold it at their facility and you go come pick it up. You’d think the company would be a little more flexible considering they probably ship engagement rings often.
