Photoshop help with creating shapes and applying blending options?
Having a little issue with creating new rectangles and shapes, if i create one shape and apply different blending options to it (shadow, bevel, stroke ect.), then Photoshop will automatically apply those same effects to every new shape that I make, how do I turn this off? It’s extremely annoying when I am trying to create multiple shapes each with different effects.
Wowee!!! I’ve never had that problem but figured you had somehow set the blending options as a default and decided to pick around and find out how/where/why that could have happened. And I think I found out where it was happening, but now I have the same problem you do!!
When you have a shape drawn and are in the layer effects options, at the top it says Blending Options: Default. When that is highlighted, it appears that whatever effects are applied become the default for new shapes that you draw.
I think if you click off that, set the shape to have no effects and click back on it, you get the plain shape as your default. I can’t manage to recreate my moves exactly, but this is definitely where it is happening.
But once I apply a style, it keeps happening again. I’m going to keep looking, but this is a start.
Edit: I can’t make it go away. Maybe this is normal and I just don’t usually use layer styles.
You can just draw a shape – let it get the old layer style, right click and clear the layer style and start fresh.
This is weird. I hope someone else knows more about it.
