Why is it that when I import a photoshop file into final cut pro some effects disappear?
It seems that anything that I applied from the “effects” menu from photoshop disappears when I add it to final cut. This includes options like shadows, bevel and emboss, etc. I want to use .psd files in final cut so I could play around with the separate layers. I think I have final cut pro 5, photoshop cs2 on an imac G5 running osX. I know very little about Mac hardware as I have been a pc monkey in in most of my computer training.
I am not doing any major animation. I just want to manipulate Layers within the timeline.
I actually have Adobe after effects but don’t know how to use it yet.
What may work best is to export each layer from photoshop as a separate transparent gif and lay them on the timeline in FCP, giving you the freedom of layers without the issue of losing effects information.
