What type of battery?
I am building my own front bike light, I intend using a 6 or 12 volt 10 or 20 watt halogen dichroic type bulb (MR11) you might find in modern lamps or celling lights.
My only issue is finding a suitable battery to power it for long enough. If I could find a 6 volt dichroic bulb with a 40 degree angle that would be my first choice,
What would be more sutable?
sealed lead acid or Nimh
and what would be more sutable, a 6 volt or a 12 vlot system?
I would choose to go with a 6 volt system as I think it would be easyer to get a 6 volt battery small enough such as a lantern battery. However Im looking for more ideas.
PJ996/ 4R25 lantern battery
I have found an adaptor that uses 4 D (R20) batterys and it replaces a Lantern battery, I could use rechargeable batterys.

Is there a rechargable Lantern battery with a higher capacity?
There is possible to light that light bulb you want, but that’s energy sucker, so therefore I would choose Nimh for hard working and long lasting. you may opt for a charger attached to your front wheel, which should elongate the life span of the accumulator (if you use one instead of a normal battery).
6 or 12 V should be in function of the lamp’s voltage.
