What do you recommend about Florida and why?
:Me and my girlfriend were wanting to take a road trip to Florida from Texas. Im looking for any good Reggae and Dub Clubs in Florida, any good Techno Clubs, any town thats worth traveling too. What are some good surf spots? Any lakes, or other natural wonder like places? Good local places to eat? Any experiences with going to Florida I would like to hear. Any recommendations of any type id like to hear about Florida.
I feel bad for answering your question without a lot of the details you were searching for…as in – I don’t know anything about reggae, dub clubs or the surfing scene – or lakes in the area…
I DO know that Destin and Clearwater are areas you don’t want to miss. If you make it as far South as Miami – czech out The Everglades…take one of those boat rides through it…I forgot what you call them – but you sit up really high in the boat and can czech out all the natural wonders of this amazing area of Florida.
Gatorland is supposed to be awesome – and if you like exotic cats – I heard that Big Cat Rescue is great (in Tampa) www.bigcatrescue.org.
Skip the panhandle if you want to avoid rednecks (no offense to you rednecks out there).
Take the Florida turnpike if you are heading all the way down the Miami – the toll is ~ $14 (well, back in 2001 it was) – which is pretty steep in my opinion, but shaves off about an hour and a half of your drive.
Keep in mind that Florida is a very hot and flat state…so if you are going to see mountainous wonders – you will be sorely disappointed.
Have a great time – and don’t forget the SPF…it is hotter than Hades down there.
