I am interested in learning how to make a mosaic table.?
Does anybody have any tips on making mosaic tables or other items. What unusual items have you used? I have a lot of old buttons and marbles that I was interested in using besides the mosaic square tiles. Thank you for any advice you may have for the beginner.
If you know your local architect/interior designers ask them for some old samples you might save a few dollars and get a wide range of tiles. (i have broken large tiles to cover irregular surfaces, you might try it on flat surface. it could be more intresting than an orthagonal pattern) You could take a table top put 1x’s aroud edges and let them rise paste table top .5″ layer any unusual material(rocks postcards beercaps) up to 3/8″ on tabletop and cover with polyurethane so the polyurethane fills in around the material / 1/8″ above it and flush with the edge of the 1x frame around table. just a thought
