Would like to make a mosaic on a small canvas?
I would like to use old broken plates and china to make a mosaic on a small square canvas is it possible, and what products do you use and how do you do it?
Check out some of these sites for info on making mosaics on canvas, and on using broken ceramics, etc:

You may want to put something stiff and strong behind the canvas (like a piece of board) even if it’s stretched canvas, and you may need to seal the canvas first (with gesso, etc).
Also, you may want to smooth any sharp edges of the broken ceramics before laying them or to use a *thick* layer of mortar or glue of some kind (rubber cement is not so great to breathe—I wouldn’t use it) so the pieces won’t poke holes in the canvas if you leave it unbacked.

Then you’ll probablly want to grout the mosaic to fill all the spaces between the “tiles”:

(It might be better to do a mosaic first on something stiff in a traditional way, even on something small, just so you get the general idea before trying to do it on canvas.)
