I make my own baby food for my son, should I use canned veggies and fruits during the salmonella scare?

I make my own food for my 6 month old and now that they are expanding the salmonella scare to jalapenos and cilantro (but they don’t really know, who knows what will be next.)

I just bought some mangos but am scared to use them.

I am wondering if I should just buy canned veggies and fruits to use rather than fresh for now?
Do they sell frozen fruit?

Can certainly understand your concern. I might suggest using frozen versus canned whenever possible, less preservatives. General rule for nutrition and the least preservatives is:
Fresh, Frozen, Canned.
