Best way to create a fake fire that can float above my hand(Was going to use magnets for the floating part)?
I’m doing a Roy Mustang cosplay at a large anime convention. His big character trait is that he can manipulate fire. I would love to have a portable “fire” that can float above my hand so I can carry it around andit in pictures and stuff.
Flash paper is too short lived, and real fire of any type is not an option at conventions.
I was wondering if anybody had any ideas for making a fake fire, whether it be something scientific or arts and crafts. Just so you know, though, my artistic abilities are pretty low.
Oh, and I was going to use magnets on my hand and the “fire”, to make it float, but if ou have other ideas, thats fine.

tiny fan in your palm..paint it black..now build a thin wire frame to hold a fabric “fire ” above it. When you dim the lights, and have a tiny bit of light on the “fire”, the fan makes the fabric move like a real fire. Maybe have a small light with the fan if possible.
