can you use a cutting torch to blow glass and other lampworking?
a lampworker told me that an oxyacetylene setup can be used to do lampworking in a pinch. It’s not ideal, but it can be done, I think it doesn’t get quite as hot as propane-oxygen.
Though I’d probably use a normal welding tip not the cutting tip. If you use borosilicate glass it’s clearly easier to work with, it doesn’t change in volume as much upon heating than other class, so it’s much less likely to crack. You also will have to anneal your pieces.
You could also use MAPP gas.
If you have no experience take a class first. It will save you from making many mistakes and it’s going to pay off in the long run.
