Need to find cheap kiln pyrometer/ multimeter?
I am looking for a multimeter/ pyrometer or a DIY setup to use in my kiln. Needs to go up to at least 2400 degrees F / 1350 C. All the ones I can find are like $200 but I can only spend about $50 total.
I think if I find the right multimeter I can plug in a K type thermocouple and this will work. But all the cheap multimeters that I can find only measure up to 750C.
Extech makes digital type K thermometers up to 1300C for $80. One of their distributors is:
