how hard is it to remove silver coating on the mirror and to apply silver coating to glass to make a mirror?
a piece of glass i have is silvered in a way that the bulge reflects light…i wanna remove the silver on the other side and coat the bulge side with silver so that the other side that is the shallow side becomes reflective….i am going to use this to make my 15 in reflector telescope…..grinding a piece of glass is too much effort and time….any suggestions 
Is googling for “silvering mirror” also too much effort and time?
The standard ways of doing it all involve an assortment of dangerous and/or poisonous chemicals like silver salts, strong acids and bases, flammable solvents, etc.
If you are just hoping that a “piece of glass with a bulge” that you found somewhere is exactly the right shape to make a 15 inch telescope mirror, you are wasting your time anyway.
