Extracted DNA was scooped using a glass rod. How do you account for the “stickiness” of DNA to glass?
DNA appeared as a precipitate once ethanol was added after releasing the nucleus from the cells using detergent and grinding it.
The “stickiness” is a result of the hydrogen bonding. Since glass contains oxygen atoms, there is some interaction between the hydrogen present in the DNA and the oxygen present in the glass.
