How do I get rid of green hair algae on glass and rocks and brown algae on substrate?
I have a 55 gallon saltwater tank that has been fully stocked for about 5 months. I have been having real problems with green hair algae on live rock and glass. I have brown algae now forming on the substrate. I just did a water change about 2 days ago to try and get rid of it by washing everything in the tank but, it has already grown back and it is full blown. HELP!
Balance your lighting. Do your water changes more frequently. Nutrients in the water from the fish wastes fuel the algae along with too much or too little lighting. You can buy algae preventer that is supposed to be safe but I never used it.
