What is best sealant for glass block windows?
I am installing small glass block windows in my basement and i was going to use the silicon sealent that someone suggested i use. Should i use that or some kind of mortar?
Mortar is the product most widely used. Please note that spacers are also utilized to help conform the mortar joint and horizontal reinforcement should also be used including pins back to the frame to secure the block permanently. If you are installing them in the basement casement windows (the kind that tilt in) You must remove the frame, add flashing and if window wells are in place, make sure the wells are deep enough to extricate the amount of rain fall and runoff.
