So I am Bleaching chunks In my black hair, and I need advice on foil.?
Okay so I go to cosmetology school, and Im a little more than half way through my schooling.
But Right now I am in the process of putting purple in my hair, and I have to bleach front sections around my head blonde inorder for the purple to be as vibrant as I want
Now the question is
Should I cover these sections in foil? Because its true that bleach works effectively with heat.
Orr do I leave the sections out free to oxidize?
Wich will lift the black better is what Im asking.
Of course you should foil the hair sweety…
Depending on how chunky you want the highlights to be you can do 1, 2 or 3 foils back to back and then a section of black hair (1 foil for small highlights, 2 foils for medium highlights and 3 foils for chunky highlights)
Of course, don’t get me wrong (This chick at beauty school did it once when I gave the same instructions to her… She wrapped one section of the hair in three foils…)
What you should do is do three foil procedures in a row and then leave a section of black hair, then three more and then another section of black hair… And so on for however many foils or chunks you want…
By doing this procedure your chunks will be about this think:

If you want them smaller, use two foils only. And remember, don’t put too much hair in one foil to prevent spotting and to give more space for the bleach to access every strand.
Hair lightens quicker and much more even in foils, as long as it is applied correctly. Apply enough bleach for the hair to absorb evenly without spotting, but not too much because then it will bleed out of the foil messing up the black hair.
Hope thid helps.
