My grade school cut all fine arts & sports. What points would you make at the school board meeting?
They have included cutting the teaching staff, therefore even with private funding they will not offer the courses.
Fine arts and sports enhance academics. Test scores will fall. You no longer have a school, you have a warehouse for kids. US education is headed for the toilet, and removing the texture, the broad-based educational framework for our students is key to making the USA a second-rate or third-rate nation.
Children learn in layers. During their formative years is the only opportunity to FULLY educate them, and without art, music, sports, without sound, movement, and challenge to every part of them, they will not thrive or grow.
