Pagans and Heathens, are all Gods one God?
Pagans and Heathens, do you feel every single God is its own separate entity?
Or do you feel all gods are one god, and all Goddesses one Goddess. The different names just different facets to the same jewel. Each name helping you attune with that aspect of the Deity?
Or do you feel most Gods are separate entitys, but many have been worshiped by different names throughout history.
To what degree are your Gods individuals, and how much do they blend together? What is your reasoning for this?
I am not asking Pagans as a whole, but each of you individually how YOU view the Gods.
allaboutdalove–tough luck, I wanted both Pagan and Heathen opinions. =P But more so I wanted to stimulate thought in everyone’s heads.
Oops, I forgot about the no God option as well as the Higher-Power option,, or any others that may pop up.

All gods are separate and unique individuals (except the Greek and Roman ones, but they are the exception that prove the rule). Thor, Zeus and Chang’o are all different entities, as are Isis, Kali and Brigid.
Having spent a considerable amount of time studying the various deities of differnt cultures, the names by which they are called as well as their natures, functions, abilities and even the means and methods of worship I can only conlcude that they are each separate and unique individuals. It makes no sense that say…someone in China would be worshiping the same deitiy as someone in..say…Germany when while both cultures have thunder gods, they are decidedly differnt in nature, appearance, attributes, name and even in the manner of their worship.
If, all the dieties were simply aspect of a single there would be far more similarities in not only the deities themselves, but in the various culutrs across the globe. IF they were all the same god then they would be called by the same name EVERYWHERE, they would be worshipped the same way by everyone and there would not be the divergence in appearance (from fully anthropomorphic deities like Zeus and Odin, multilimbed beings like Kali to animal headed deities like Set and Ganesha.) They would all be the same. ALSO, the various cultures, religious systems and societies that grew up around the worship of the various gods would all be pretty much the same IF all the gods were the same god.
