Is the movie Player’s Club w’ Ice Cube supposed to take place in Atlanta?
The reason I ask is 1) Diana/Diamond mentions she wants to attend “Southern Tech College”. 2) Dollar Bill owes money to a guy named St. Louis ( a gangster who “runs” the south). 3) There are no beaches or mountains. I am sure it was filmed somewhere else but I wonder if the story is supposed to take place in Atlanta. Peace.
I’m not entirely sure it’s supposed to take place in Atlanta, but it is very likely, and I’d probably assume so. It’s definitely inspired by Atlanta. Ice Cube got the idea for the story when he was on tour and visited strip clubs in Atlanta and it made him want to make a movie about the black southern strip club industry. So, considering that, it’s very likely that it’s at least meant to resemble Atlanta. It was shot in LA, though.
