Securing both sashes of a double hung window with an air conditioner installed?
I have newly installed, double hung windows that cannot be drilled through. Is there something out there (like the auto club) that will secure the top and bottom sash simultaneously? I was thinking of a modified, adjustable ‘S’ bracket (with rubber coated ends to not damage the sashes).
Putting a pole/dow in the window will not prevent the upper sash from being pulled down and allowing the pole/dow to be removed.
Just install the ac, then measure between the sashes. Then just simply cut a piece of wood(2×2) but cut it a hair big. Then jamb it in between the sashes. It will prevent either sash from being opened.
