What causes brown pool stains?
I have a 15,000 gal in-ground pool. I’ve started to get lots of little quarter size’d brown spots in the bottom. I can reduce them with a lot of direct scrubbing with a steal brush but otherwise, nothing affects them. I’ve tried shocking, algisides etc. I’ve had my water professionally tested. They said it doesn’t look like algee and that it could be a metal but not any of the metals they test for (copper, etc). So what is my next step? These things seem to be growing in number. They cluster together in groups of 4 or 5.
I had the same problem, and actually still do. Found out it was worms, or some sort of bug, from trees near by that have settled onto the bottom and turned brown, in turn staining the liner.
I’ve tried to clean it also, but nothing happens.
