Reflex Sights By Trijicon
Trijicon, an American company founded by the late Glyn Bindon is best known for its ultra-rugged range of ACOG maginfying reflex sights which have taken the West’s militaries by storm. However, Trijicon have always invested heavily in research and development and have built up a great range of civilian and military sighting equipment for a wide variety of applications. One obvious niche was for shoulder weapons used at short to medium ranges. This is not restricted to carbines and SMGs used in Close Quarter Battle and entry scenarios but also to shotguns used for turkey shooting and practical competitions. These sights also have a niche in the back woods on lever action deer rifles.
Trijicon always try to free the shooter from reliance on batteries and electronics. Instead, the Trijicon Reflex is illuminated by during daylight by a fiber-optic light gathering device and by night by a tritium lamp. This caters for almost any situation, the exception being shooting into bright surroundings from darkness, a scenario for which the Trijicon Tripower was developed. These sights offer excellent situational awareness and very rapid target engagement.
The Trijicon Reflex series use fully coated dichroic mirrors and have either 24 or 42 mm objectives. The housings are immensely strong unitary investment castings of A357-T6 aluminum alloy to resist impact. The sights are hard anodized in a dark grey matte finish. Most Trijocon Reflex sights employ amber dots of either 4.5 or 6.5 MoA, but a more precise 12 MoA chevron is available on one of the 24mm models. The recessed adjusters are calibrated in one inch at 100 yard clicks which is more than enough for the intended use.
A lot of effort has been put into making these sights fit a vast array of weapons. They offer the basic sight without a mount. You can then add your selection of Weaver, Flattop (Picatinny on AR15), Low Profile Flattop Quick Detach, Low Profile Weaver Quick Detach, H&K, A.R.M.S #15 throw lever, AK47 and an M16 / AR15 carry handle mount. A Tenebraex KillFlash anti reflection device is also available for these units.
Units offered include the Trijicon RX01 which is a 24 mm objective model with a 6.5 MoA amber dot, the Trijicon RX30, a 6.5 MoA unit with a 42mm objective and the Trijicon RX34, another 42mm objective model, but this time with the smaller 4.5 MoA dot.
