Just Graduated. Looking for job in entertainment industry in New York. What should I do?
I just graduated (May 19, 2008) from Emerson College in Boston. Now, I’m looking for a job in the entertainment industry, specifically, TV, but behind the scenes. So far, I’ve applied for 145 jobs, using websites like mandy, craigslist, entertainment careers, abc, cbs, nbc, viacom, timewarner, rainbow media, discovery, a&e, cox communications, and others. I don’t know what else to do. Any tips?
I’ve already taken 2 unpaid internships while in school and honestly can’t afford to take another one. And while at school, I’ve produced and worked on many shows for Emerson.
Suggest getting an unpaid internship at a station to get some experience on your resume and then you can be looking for a job from the inside.
