Is it possible to thread a galvanized fitting onto a brass one?
I have a 1/8″ brass needle valve that is connected to a flexible plastic pipe that was used to connect an ice cube maker with the previous home owner. When we moved in we had no use for it and simply closed the valve. However, it has recently started leaking by the valve (and out the other end of the unattached pipe) at full pressure and we are wasting a lot of water. I thought if I bought a cap to seal it at the valve then that would be my cheapest and easiest option. The issue is all I can find in 1/8″ size is galvanized and it doesn’t seem to want to thread on. Am I doing something wrong or can I not attach galvanized to brass?
try cutting your water off at the meter and cut the valave off and use a sharkbite end cap and be done with it
