Canucks lines are not good???????????????Read?
Its my opinion but D lines are good, Goalies are good, Forwards I dont know….
Even with Burrows:
Sedin-Sedin-Burr
M.R-Kes-Sam
Hansen-Mal-Sch/Torres
Glass-Bol-Des
…..
These are not good lines, We should have kept Grabner(could have got Ballard for less)
The lines right now should be:
Sedin Sedin Burrows
M.R-Kesler-Grabner/Sam
Maloltra-Hogdson-Sam/Grabner
Hansen Bold-Shafer
Excuse my spelling, but I dont think the canucks can win the cup with our forwards…. We need more fast skating rookies CoHo, Scroder….
I would disagree with you.
Grabner was developing too slowly for the Canucks to keep him.
His speed was alright, but he wasn’t a good fit with the Canucks.
As for the rookies, Jordan Schroeder needs a year with the Moose. Hodgson on the other hand had a decent chance to crack the line up – but it was clearly evident from his play that he also needs another year with the Moose. You mention “fast skating rookie” – but Hodgson was definitely not fast during the preseason. He’s young and taking a year in Manitoba will do him good. No need to pressure him especially since his back injury is somewhat better now.
In my opinion, I would have liked to see Morrison. He’s got good legs and enough speed as well skill – the only factor he didn’t have that Gillis was obviously looking for was physicality and grit. It is for that reason that the fourth line is composed mostly of big guys. Thus, Morrison didn’t fit.
The first two lines are fine. With Burrows out, Samuelsson can play with the Sedins. The second line is pretty speedy even without Grabner – Torres is a good addition. The third line is also pretty good. Malhotra is amazing as a third center and Hansen has improved his game vastly. We’ll just have to wait and see how Schaefer will fit in. As for the fourth line – well they’re mostly there to provide a presence of physicality.
The Canucks still have the speed and skill from last year, and now they’ve added a more physical level to their game.
