I have a broken plate, please, does anyone know of a company that repairs or any methods of repair?
It is a small plate, broken into approximately 4 or 5 pieces. I need to repair it, it’s 57 years old and it has really upset my mother. I would love it if It could all be put back together.

I sympathise. Earlier this year I whacked a decorative plate off the kitchen wall with a floor mop (don’t ask me what I was doing). A couple of huge chips needed to be glued back on and for this I used Unibond No More Nails. Superglue would also have worked I think. However, in your case, given the plate is a prized piece I think you need a professional restorer to get to work on it. Search ceramic restoration in various search engines. On Yahoo I found this company at the top of the list:

If you want to take it somewhere local and see somebody face to face about it, how about looking up restorers in local Yellow Pages, or contacting local antique dealers (many regularly require restoration work on their items). Local musuems undertaking restortion work or contracting it out to other companies might also be able to recommend somebody competant.
I hope this helps. It won’t be cheap but your mum will surely be pleased if you get tit done properly.
